Renovating a 17th century does not mean building the same place again, but rather put into light its most remarkable aspects. Thus, in this hotel in Mexico City, the revealing of this old mansion’s spirit, its frescoes, the  raw stone and the large volumes, the presentation of all those beauties is absolutely gorgeous. Contemporary additions blend in perfectly with the space and enhance its unusual character.

There a little examples of a great mix between century-old places and bold contemporary architecture. Well, the Mamilla hotel in Jerusalem could be one of them. They seem to have balance very well the presence of old stones and stone walls, so important in the local culture, and the integration of pure and bold design elements. Another good reason to go and live the history in Israël.
